Funding to develop Tourism Evening Experiences

The Northern Territory Government is providing a funding pool of $100,000 to assist new or existing NT tourism operators develop a tourism evening experience for visitors to enjoy. 

The new Tourism Evening Experiences grant program is a competitive grant round offering funding of up to $14,500 to a single successful operator in each of the following Territory tourism regions of Darwin, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine, Lasseter, Kakadu and Arnhem Land.  

Successful projects must be a new visitor experience in addition to:

  • being strategic in nature and clearly demonstrate how the new experience will deliver benefits to the region
  • enhance an existing visitor experience by meeting unmet demand in the region, provide a seasonal offering, deliver positive visitor reviews and increase visitor numbers.

Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate the greatest need for visitor enhancement and align their tourism evening experience to a tourism strategy or plan such as a regional Destination Management Plan, the NT Drive Tourism Strategy 2021-2030, the Northern Territory Aboriginal Tourism Strategy 2020-2030 or the NT’s Tourism Industry Strategy 2030.

Applications open 23 December 2021 and close 4pm, 31 January 2022 with projects to be completed by 30 June 2022.
