NT Summer Sale - Agent FAQs

How to get involved in NT Summer Sale

I’m not an agent with Holidays of Australia/NT Now, Helloworld or Flight Centre. How do I get involved?

To get involved, you can book products through the following wholesalers:

Holidays of Australia/NT Now: Simply make a booking via Holidays of Australia/NT Now. For queries, contact [email protected]

Helloworld/Viva Holidays: Contact [email protected]

Bookings must meet all the campaign eligibility criteria and be lodged through the NT Summer Sale agent incentive portal using a Holidays of Australia/NT Now or Helloworld Travel/Viva Holidays booking number.

I work for an ITO or wholesaler, can we be part of this campaign?

For this particular campaign, our strategic partners are Helloworld, Holidays of Australia and Flight Centre, whom we have worked with over the last few months to contract and work closely through the complexities this national campaign involves.

The reason we have selected only these partners is twofold, firstly we needed to confine the resource required on our end in terms of reconciling the thousands of consumer redemptions the incentive will generate, unfortunately our internal resources can’t stretch beyond the three partners listed.

The second reason is that these partners have the capability to work across all trade and independent agents through separate commercial arrangements.

You are more than welcome to get involved and reap the benefits of this campaign through collaboration with our partners.

In order to do this, we encourage you to reach out to either Holidays of Australia, via:
•    Ben Mead, Managing Director, [email protected]

Or alternatively, Helloworld Travel / Viva Holidays, via:
•    Nicole Chapman, State Sales Manager, [email protected]

With a view to establishing a commercial relationship during this campaign, which could be a great option for your company.

I’m not familiar with NT product. How can I learn more about the region?

Tourism NT will be running webinars throughout the campaign to upskill agents on the region. Sign up here to be included in the training program.

How do I apply the $200 rebate to a sale?

Your Head Office will provide you with details on how to apply the discount to your sale.

Booking criteria and eligibility

What qualifies as an eligible booking?

Bookings must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible:

  1. Travel must be booked within the campaign period of 1 October 2020 to 31 March 2021
  2. Travel departure must occur by or on 31 March 2021
  3. Must be valued at a minimum of $1,000 (inclusive of GST) before the NT Summer Sale discount is applied
  4. Can include any bookable flight, accommodation, tour, attraction or hire vehicle inbound to, or from within the NT
  5. All bookings must have a minimum of 80% of days booked in the NT; e.g. for a ten day AAT Kings tour, eight days must be in the NT.  However, an exception would be a journey on The Ghan, where 60% of days booked must be in the NT
  6. Intra-Territory travel by NT residents is eligible. Discount will not apply to interstate travel components for NT residents.
What NT products can I sell during this campaign?

Your Head Office will promote deals of NT product during the campaign which will be communicated to you.  All NT products, whether contracted or not, will be eligible if included in a booking.

Are flights to and from the NT included?

Yes, flights, tours, accommodation, attractions and vehicle hire inbound to, from or within the NT are all eligible to be included in the minimum $1,000 booking (incl. GST).

What if my client is doing a multi-stop booking?

As long as the booking has a minimum of 80% of days booked in the NT; e.g. for a ten day holiday, eight days must be in the NT, it is eligible.

Is a booking on The Ghan eligible?

Yes, there is a booking duration exception for The Ghan, where 60% of days booked must be in the NT.

What if I am unsure at the point of purchase if the customer’s booking is eligible?

For urgent enquiries, contact Kerryn Smith, Domestic Distribution Coordinator at Tourism NT,  0474 859 017 or for non-urgent queries, email [email protected]

What if I apply a discount to a sale that’s ineligible?

Partners will be providing Tourism NT with an End of Month sales report which will be reconciled to ensure all sales are eligible. Tourism NT will also be assessing the reports to ensure all sales meet the criteria. Partners will not be reimbursed for consumer discounts or agent incentives on ineligible sales.

Can NT residents book travel during the campaign?

Intra-Territory travel by NT residents is eligible. Discounts will not apply to interstate travel components for NT residents. However, an exception would be a journey on The Ghan from Darwin to Adelaide, where a minimum of one pre-rail journey night is spent in a “staycation” in a hotel, so 60% of days booked would be in the NT

Can travel Insurance be included in the rebate?

No, travel insurance can not be included in the total booking value.

When I enter my booking in the Agent Portal, what is the correct booking value that should be entered?

You should enter the booking value that is the total sum of all eligible bookable flights, accommodation, tours, attractions and/or hire vehicles for your booking before the  rebate has been applied.
