Twenty-five Northern Territory businesses have been recognised at the tourism industry’s night of nights.

The 35th Brolga Awards celebrate individual contributions as well as the best tourism operators and products across the Northern Territory.

Char Restaurant and The Darwin Club took out the Chairman’s Choice for Tourism Excellence, as well as the Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services Award.

For the fourth year running, Katherine Outback Experience was the winner of Best Tourist Attraction.

A pioneer in sustainable travel, Grant Hunt AM was named the winner of the Tourism Minister’s Perpetual Trophy, in recognition of his contribution to nature-based tourism.

Twenty of the Brolga winners will go on to represent the Northern Territory at the 2022 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, to be held in Sydney early next year.

Quotes from Chief Minister Natasha Fyles:

“Congratulations to all entrants in the 2022 Brolga Awards and to the Alice Springs Convention Centre for hosting such a fabulous evening in Australia’s heart, the Red Centre.

"Winning a Brolga Award is the industry’s highest accolade, and the award winners represent the best tourism products and services in the Territory.”

Quotes from Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Nicole Manison

“The Territory’s tourism industry has a lot to celebrate, they were one of the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and through their commitment and resilience they have adapted and innovated.

"Tonight’s ceremony is a fitting acknowledgment of how the tourism sector has thrived and continues to be a key contributor to our economy, employing locals throughout the regions and highlighting the unique experiences on offer in the Northern Territory.”
