Tourism NT is seeking Expressions of Interest for new members to join the Aboriginal Tourism Committee (ATC).

The ATC will guide implementation of the Aboriginal Tourism Strategy 2020-2030 to achieve its vision of the Northern Territory becoming the undeniable leader in the provision of Aboriginal tourism experiences in Australia.

The Committee will also contribute to developing sustainable and prosperous Aboriginal tourism enterprises across the NT, enabling individuals to create or take up meaningful employment and business opportunities and, at the same time, maintain and share their cultural heritage.

The Committee will meet at least four times annually with meetings being held in various locations across the NT to enable members to gain a comprehensive understanding of regional and remote opportunities.

Members will be predominantly Aboriginal people who either have genuine tourism industry knowledge and expertise and/or an understanding of or experience in matters crucial to the sustainable development of Aboriginal tourism businesses. All members must be Northern Territory residents.

Appointment as a Committee member shall be for a period not exceeding two years.

Applicants should be prepared to travel away from home for periods generally not exceeding three days.

Applications are due 15 June.

Submit a written application outlining your interest and stating the expertise you can bring to the Committee to the Director Regions South and Aboriginal Sector, Stuart Ord on 8951 8584 or email [email protected] by 15 June 2020.
