New fund to attract business events

The new fund will allow the Territory to compete more aggressively for lucrative business events, that deliver significant benefits to the economy.
Under the new Business Events Support Fund, business events planners or organisations who decide to stage a business event in the Territory will be able to apply for financial assistance of $100 per delegate, up to a maximum of $50,000 per event.
Business events deliver significant economic benefits and create local jobs with conference and business event delegates often staying longer and spending more than other visitors.
Securing just one additional 500 delegate business event for the Territory will deliver over $2 million in incremental visitor spend; demonstrating the value of this sector.
The new fund will be managed by the NT Convention Bureau.
