Military history fans are the target of a new tourism campaign advertising the inaugural Territory Tribute event series.

The Territory Tribute series will start with the Bombing of Darwin Commemoration (February 19) followed by a number of events running through to Anzac Day.

The event series aims to shine a spotlight on the significant role the Territory played in World War II while positioning the NT as the key pilgrimage destination for military history in Australia.

Each of the Tribute events will be promoted as part of the new marketing campaign to spark ‘immediate’ holiday bookings, supporting local businesses during a traditionally quieter time for tourism.

The campaign includes digital and social media advertising, video promotion on YouTube and catch up television and travel packages with Holidays of Australia.

The Territory Tribute military history campaign is part of the Government’s $103 million Turbocharging Tourism stimulus package and is is expected to attract 15,000 visitors, delivering $4 million in estimated visitor expenditure.
