The world heritage listed Kakadu National Park has been named best Major Tourist Attraction at the 2016 Brolga Northern Territory Tourism Awards.

Capping off a successful year, the iconic Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel also took out the award for best Unique Accommodation while Christian Diddams, an experienced ranger in Kakadu National Park, won the SKAL Tourism Employee Award at the gala ceremony in Darwin.

This year's Brolga Awards celebrated a special milestone with its 30th 'pearl' anniversary.

The Awards recognise excellence in the Northern Territory's tourism industry and pay tribute to the hard-working tourism operators who deliver world-class attractions, tours, experiences, food and culture to visitors to the Northern Territory.

Well-known Northern Territory businessman, John ‘Foxy’ Robinson was awarded the Tourism Minister’s Perpetual Trophy for his commitment to tourism in the Territory.

All business category winners from the 2016 Brolga Awards will now represent the Northern Territory at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards (QATAs) on 24 February 2017, to be held in Darwin for the first time.
