Tourism NT’s web series, Location Scouts, continues to attract global attention picking up a swag of awards in the USA.

The 'mockumentary' took out Best Web Series at the Los Angeles Film Awards for July 2019, Best Web Series at the Top Shorts Film Festival for July 2019 and Best of Show at the IndieFEST Film Awards.

The US accolades comes on the back of Location Scouts being an Official Selection at WEBFEST Berlin, set to take place from 12 to 14 September 2019.

Filmed in parallel with Top End Wedding, Location Scouts was produced as a short episodic web series to raise awareness of the Territory, the locations and the film.

Location Scouts follows a humorous ‘clash of generations’ between two disparate characters; Morgan (female, millennial and the fictional daughter of the film’s producer) and Steve (knockabout bloke with decades of location scout experience) as they travel the Top End scouting for Top End Wedding locations.

The many stunning settings from Top End Wedding are featured in Location Scouts including the Tiwi Islands (Melville Island), Darwin, Jabiru, Kakadu, Arnhem Land, Nitmiluk/Katherine Gorge and Katherine, as well as local tourism operators including Mindil Beach Markets, Cicada Lodge and the Kakadu Crocodile Hotel.

Created by Glen Condie and the award-winning Van Vuuren Brothers of Bondi Hipsters fame, Location Scouts is quirky and fun and designed to appeal to young travellers while also complementing the movie’s key target audience.
