Arts Trail Displaying Indigenous Art and Culture
A new Arts Trail will be developed across the Northern Territory showcasing Indigenous art and culture.

Under the new Arts Trails initiative, regional and remote art galleries across the Territory will be able to apply for a total of $6 million in funding over three years to enhance their facilities.

Grants of up to $10,000 will be available for minor enhancements and upgrades to regional and remote art centres, art galleries, museums, libraries and keeping places and $100,000 for bigger infrastructure projects.

The Arts Trail Regional Stimulus Grant Program aims to support local art centres and galleries so they can attract more visitors along the Territory’s Indigenous Arts Trail, providing a much-needed boost to local economies and creating jobs in regional areas.

The Northern Territory is home to 100 community art galleries, museums and keeping places, all displaying incredible examples of Indigenous art and craft.

The new Indigenous Arts Trail is is a significant investment in this rich Indigenous art and culture and the Northern Territory's tourism industry.

A $50 million Arts Gallery and $20 million Culture Centre in Alice Springs are focal points of the Indigenous Arts Trail, with regional galleries creating a link that will span across the entire Territory.

The first grants round will be open until Monday 22 May.
