The team behind Bondi Hipsters have produced a new comedy web series set in the Territory called Location Scouts.

The web series builds on the success of the Top End Wedding movie by following a humorous ‘clash of generations’ between two disparate characters; Morgan (the fictional daughter of the film’s producer and a Millennial) and Steve (a knockabout bloke with decades of location scout experience).

As they travel the Top End together scouting for Top End Wedding locations, their different outlooks and attitudes provide plenty of laughs.

Tourism NT’s Executive General Manager Marketing, Tony Quarmby, said the online series was an industry-first.

“Location Scouts is part of a widermarketing campaign around the Top End Wedding movie that includes the Win a Top End Wedding competition we ran in partnership with Channel Nine’s Today show,” he said.

“Location Scouts features many stunning places from the film, including the Tiwi Islands, Darwin, Jabiru, Kakadu, Arnhem Land, Nitmiluk Gorge and Katherine, as well as local tourism operators and attractions, such as Mindil Beach Sunset Markets, Cicada Lodge and the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel.

“Combined with the movie and the competition, Location Scouts will help showcase the Territory to hundreds of thousands of people, providing valuable exposure for our tourism operators and local businesses.”

Brothers Connor and Christiaan Van Vuuren are known for their quirky style on Bondi Hipsters, and Location Scouts is designed to appeal to young travellers while complementing the movie’s key target audience.
