Millions of eyes will be on Alice Springs this week, with a KFC Big Bash League game to be held in the town.

The clash, between the Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers, is set to be one of the biggest sporting events in Alice Springs’ history, broadcast to more than 130 countries.

In a further coup for the town, interstate sports fans as well as 140 players, staff, media and sponsors will descend on Alice Springs for the match, which will provide a substantial boost for our local business.

In a double header, the Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers women’s teams in the Rebel Women’s Big Bash League will also play in Alice Springs over the weekend.

Cricket is one of the most popular sports in Australia at international, domestic and local levels and the Territory Government’s $1.25 million agreement with the KFC Big Bash League and Rebel Women’s Big Bash League will see the games come to Alice Springs in 2018 and 2019.
