The new Territory Aviation Attraction Scheme is now live. Eligible airports can apply for grant funding in a boost for the Territory aviation industry.

The new Territory Aviation Attraction Scheme (TAAS) is now live.

Darwin, Alice Springs and Ayers Rock airports have the opportunity to apply for government funding to support the development of aviation services.

Grants are now available to eligible airports for the creation of new routes, and to provide extra capacity on existing routes to Alice Springs and Ayers Rock airports.

The airports have the opportunity to apply for a share of $10 million in government funding, to be matched dollar-for-dollar by the applicant as co-contribution, bringing the full value of the scheme to $20 million.

The grants will facilitate the Northern Territory to compete with larger jurisdictions for new routes and more frequent services and provide more options for tourists to travel to the Territory by plane.

Developing ongoing aviation access to and within the Territory is one of the six key priorities in the Tourism Industry Strategy 2030.
