A total of 14 Aboriginal owned and operated Territory tourism businesses have received more than $220,000 in grant funding through round two of the Aboriginal Tourism Grant Program.

A key component of the Aboriginal Tourism Strategy 2020-2030 released in 2019, the Aboriginal Tourism Grant Program offered grants up to $20,000.

The grant program aims to provide assistance by expanding the Territory’s Aboriginal tourism offerings and supporting businesses to improve existing experiences, develop new products or improve the sustainability of Aboriginal owned tourism businesses.

There are eight successful projects from the Top End, totalling more than $130,500 in grant funding and a further six successful projects from Central Australia receiving more than $92,900 in grant funding.

The grant program is a key component of the Aboriginal Tourism Strategy 2020-2030 released in 2019.
