The Survey of Tourist Accommodation (STA) is undertaken quarterly by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The survey covers the hotels, motels, guest houses and serviced apartments sector with 15 or more rooms. Since September quarter 2010 however, the STA no longer includes visitor hostels or caravan parks.
