Tourism Overview
This report provides a summary of annual domestic and international visitation statistics to Australia and the Northern Territory. It includes data on visitors, visitor nights, expenditure and NT market share and is updated each quarter.

NT Tourism Satellite Account
This report provides key data on the economic significance of tourism, and the linkages that exist between tourism and other industries from the Tourism Satellite Account for the Northern Territory.

NT Tourism Forecasts
Forecasting plays a key role in facilitating sustainable growth in tourism.  The report documents the outcomes from the Tourism Forecasting Panel meetings and includes forecasts for Intra-territory, Interstate and International travel to the Territory.

Tourist Accommodation
The Survey of Tourist Accommodation, or STA, is undertaken quarterly by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The survey covers the hotels, motels, guest houses and serviced apartments sector as well as visitor hostels and caravan parks.

Hotels, motels, guest houses and service apartments, or HGMS,  looks at data relating to accommodation houses that provide short-term non residential accommodation.

Operating Environment and External Shocks
Local, national and global changes in the operating environment can impact on travel behaviour and trends. Examples of such trends include the rationalisation of the aviation industry, interest rate rises, SARS and World Cup. These events are visually represented in the tourism trends graphs.
