Northern Territory 10 Year Cruise Vision 2004

Released in September 2004, the Northern Territory 10 Year Cruise Vision 2004 sets a long-term plan that challenges local cruise stakeholders to maximise the development of the NT cruise ship market.

The vision is for the NT to become a prominent and distinctive cruise ship destination in the next decade. This vision recognises the NT's current strengths and recognises the need for the Territory to develop and market itself as a desirable destination for cruise ships.

The Cruise Vision sets ambitious goals, challenging all players in the industry to work together to achieve them. The aim of the document is to clearly detail the NT's cruise vision statement and to outline the strategic direction required to realise the vision.

Northern Territory Cruise Strategy Committee

The cruise ship market continues to grow in popularity globally and is a high yield market for Darwin and the Top End.

The committee comprises representatives from Tourism NT, Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Evironment, Department Business, Economic and Resource Development and the Darwin Port Corporation.

There is also a Facilitation Committee that coordinate visitor activities and welcomes for cruise ships that arrive in Darwin.
