Katherine and surrounds

The Katherine Region encompasses the Katherine, Elsey, Gulf and Victoria River sub-regions.

Completed projects

In collaboration with town and community government councils and other government agencies such as Parks and Wildlife, a large number of infrastructure projects were completed in the Katherine Region in 2006/07, including information signage at the new information bay south of Katherine, welcome and information signage at Daly Waters and new signage and other upgrades at heritage sites around Mataranka. Funding of over $220,000 was provided by Tourism NT to improve visitor facilities and therefore increase visitor satisfaction and length of stay in the region.
