Tourism Accreditation Program
Tourism accreditation in the Northern Territory has been driven by industry to ensure the ongoing sustainability and best practices of local tourism operators, and identifies a minimum standard in business operation and customer service.
The Standard helps define core business activities and good business practices required by a tourism enterprise that are essential for a viable operation. It is against the key elements of the Standard that a business wishing to become accredited is formally assessed.
A business that meets the requirements of the Standard, and gains accreditation, signals to its customers and to the wider industry that it is committed to professionalism both in business operations and delivery of service.
Tourism NT's new accreditation policy
From 1 July 2010, Tourism NT will provide particular marketing, promotion and distribution services exclusively to tourism product/service providers who are accredited with a TAAL licensed program (or who can demonstrate a certification standard equivalent or higher to the standards set by the Australian Tourism Accreditation Standard).
There are currently 12 accreditation programs holding a TAAL license. View the flyer (PDF, 1.3Mb) for more information about this policy and the TAAL licensed accreditation programs.
