Rather than Tourism NT tell you why, we thought we would leave it to the experts! Here's what a few of our 2007 winners have to say.
"As a New Tourism Development, the application process was a surprisingly useful exercise in looking at what we originally set out to achieve and what we in fact did. Above all, the Brolga Award provided very real recognition for our staff. Despite initial reservations at having to spend time going through an application process, Tourism NT make it a remarkably painless exercise and their support throughout undoubtedly improves the quality of the application. Nevertheless, it is better not to leave it until the last minute to complete!"

"Being a national operator, AAT Kings found the Brolga Awards an excellent opportunity to single out and document in detail the entire performance of our NT business. Having been an awards sponsor for many years, but not actually entering a submission for the last few, didn't prove an issue due to the comprehensive support structure provided by Tourism NT through the dedicated Brolga workshops, mentoring program and relevant on-going communication. Our submissions required contributions form all facets of AAT Kings business resulting in a cohesive team effort to deliver the final products, and proved to be a fantastic process of self-evaluation and re-focusing of goals for the company."
Peter Graham - AAT Kings
"We entered the 2007 Brolga Awards knowing that we had experienced a very lean year. Visitor numbers had shown a decline in some areas which were in line with most other Central Australian attractions. We also knew however that we had put considerable time and effort into the future growth of our business, and therefore this was to become the focus of our submission.
Winning was truly unexpected, but to go on and win the Chairman's Choice Award was an absolute surprise and the highlight of our year. Success showed us that the award isn't just about increasing visitor numbers, instead it focussed on our entire business and our plans for future growth.
Although most of us have business plans, procedure manuals and accreditations, once we have completed our submission we have alwasy found the process to be a throrough annual assessment of our business. The presentation night is also a great way to celebrate the year with industry."
