Signature Lodges Initiative

Tourism NT is keen to ensure that there is an adequate supply of tourism development sites to meet the future needs of visitors to the Northern Territory.

To achieve this, Tourism NT is working to develop the Signature Lodges initiative.

The aim of Signature Lodges initiative is to make investment in tourism infrastructure in the NT easier.

Tourism NT will work with relevant government authorities to identify a small number of suitable tourism development sites and prepare these for future development.

Tourism NT expects that this process would involve undertaking a ‘pre-approval process’ for these sites before calling for expressions of interest.

A similar process has been operating in Western Australia since 2005 and has been identified by TTF Australia (Tourism & Transport Forum) as a key way of attracting quality investment in national parks and protected areas.
