Darwin & Top End Campaign 2012

NT tourism operators have the opportunity to participate in a seven week campaign from 23 April to 9 June, focussed on generating new bookings for Top End operators. 

Travel industry partners with strong tactical offers to add to the sense of urgency to book and travel will be included in the Tourism NT digital campaign.

Hot Deals

More than ever before, consumers are seeking value for money in their purchases, including holiday travel. This value is measured in terms of both a discounted cost or as a value-added experience.

Tourism partners are invited to submit an offer to have featured within the Hot Deals section on our consumer website, travelnt.com. Participation is free, but successful offers must represent true value – whether through financial gains or experiential value.

Driving Business to the NT

What is the Drive campaign?

This exciting new marketing initiative will aim to inspire more travellers to take a self drive holiday in the NT and encourage them to go further, stay longer and have an incredible self drive adventure.

At the heart of the campaign is a “Mates Rates” mobile application.  “Mates Rates” will be packed with exclusive offers, giving your business the platform to entice the self drive traveller to YOUR product/service.

"Mates Rates" will be available to the public from 1 May 2012 and will feature exclusive offers from service providers across the Territory, incentivising and rewarding the consumer along their self drive journey.  "Mates Rates" will also be available to Territorians.

Who is supporting the campaign?

The campaign is a joint initiative between Tourism NT, South Australia Tourism Commission, Tourism Top End, Tourism Central Australia, Britz and BIG 4.

How can you get involved?

As a key stakeholder we are inviting you to be part of this exciting new initiative to promote YOUR product on the drive mobile application.  The app will initially focus on the Explorers Way but will have the capability to showcase product in and around this major touring route.  

This is a FREE opportunity – no commission payments are required.  All you have to do to be involved is submit your 12 month special offer via this link.

Research tells us that consumers continue to be motivated by value and let’s be honest, we all like a deal!  With a challenging year ahead the NT will continue to compete for the self drive market against other states and their major touring routes and as such the deals need to provide consumers with exclusive offers that demonstrate real value for money.

Top tips for success!

  • Differentiate your product or service from your competitors – think outside of the box!
  • Make the offer exclusive and beyond your normal seasonal discounts
  • Make sure your special offer is relevant to your business
  • Make sure your special offer is valid for 12 months, this will encourage redemption throughout the year
  • Instead of offering discounts why not offer a keepsake that is of relevance to your business?
