TQUAL - Tourism Quality Projects
T-QUAL Grants is a competitive merit-based grants program aimed at stimulating sustainable economic growth in the Australian tourism industry. The program is normally released each year around February with applications closing April. The TQUAL Grants program in 2012 provided matched funding of up to $100,000 for tourism development, refurbishment and business improvement projects. Such projects can include:
- Feasibility studies for new product development or extensions to existing business activities;
- Interpretative signage for heritage developments or displays;
- Development or refurbishment of existing tourism product and displays;
- Development of nature-based tourism product including walking trails, eco-huts and cabins; or
- Improvement of online business activities including websites and multi-media displays.

EEIG - Energy Efficiency Information Grants
Applications for funding under Round One of the Australian Government’s EEIG Program are now open until 5pm (Eastern Daylight Saving Time) on 16 March 2012.
The EEIG Program is a $40 million funding commitment by the Government to assist industry associations and non-profit organisations provide practical, tailored energy efficiency information to small and medium enterprises and community organisations.
Applications for funding are governed by the terms set out in the EEIG Program Guidelines (the Guidelines). The Guidelines, application guidance and other relevant information about the program are available from the EEIG Program website.
NT Goverment
- Events and projects with the potential to attract interstate and/or international visitors to the NT may apply for support from the Marketing Communications unit of Tourism NT.
EcoBiz NT
(Dept. Business & Employment)
- ecoBiz NT is an environmental partnership program that helps Territory businesses adopt resource-efficient practices that are good for the financial bottom line as well as for the environment.
- Territory Business Growth is an innovative package of assistance programs structured to enhance business performance, profitability, employment levels and market penetration.
NRETAS Grants

- NRETAS offers a wide variety of grants that range from Heritage Grants to Film Production Grants and Environmental Grants.
NT Arts Grant Program
(Dept. Natural Resources, Environment, The Arts and Sport)
- The Northern Territory Arts Grants program has a variety of grants available for art organisations. Ranging from annual funding options to remote festival and community funding.
- If you employ apprentices and trainees, you may be eligible for Northern Territory Government funding in addition to financial assistance and incentives provided by the Australian Government.
- The Trade Support Scheme aims to build stronger trading partnerships and create new export opportunities. It provides Northern Territory based organisations with financial help to offset the costs of international marketing activities.
- Up until now, accredited tourism operators working actively in international markets could obtain financial assistance from the Trade Support Scheme (TSS) a maximum of three times. However, businesses that have exhausted their TSS options can be considered again now if their proposed activity relates to growing eastern markets.

- The Indigenous Business Development Program (IBDP) is a $600K per annum program to assist Indigenous people to enter commercial businesses or expand existing businesses that will create employment and/or wealth creation opportunities, and help to close the economic gap between non-Indigenous and Indigenous Territorians.

- Enterprise Connect, an Australian Government initiative backed by industry that offers comprehensive advice and support to eligible Australian small and medium businesses to help them transform and reach their full potential.
- The Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) scheme is a key Australian Government financial assistance program for aspiring and current exporters. Administered by Austrade, the scheme supports a wide range of industry sectors and products, including inbound tourism and the export of intellectual property and know-how outside Australia.
- Aus Industry is an Australian Government imitative that gives businesses and organisations access to various funding availabilities depending on the type of business you are and what you would like to do with the funding. This is a simple step by step database to find the most appropriate grant for you.
GrantsLINK

- GrantsLINK is an online database of Grants and Funding that is available to a variety of businesses and organisations. Broken down into categories this website is straight forward and easy to locate your desired grants.
- The RDAF is a national program to support Australia's regions and enhance the economic development and liveability of their communities.
- The Energy Efficiency Information Grants Program will provide funding to industry associations and non-profit organisations that work with SMEs and community organisations. These groups will deliver information about energy efficiency to SMEs and community organisations to enable them to respond to the impact of increasing energy costs, including the carbon price.
- Indigenous Tourism Australia is a web portal for the indigenous tourism sector. It includes information on starting and maintaining a profitable business, how to get help, training programs and useful contacts. The site also lists a range of indigenous tourism funding programs.

- Philanthropy Australia is the national peak body and is a not-for-profit membership organisation. Membership represents Australia’s leading grant-making private, family and corporate trusts and foundations.
