There are a number of certification schemes that can help businesses improve their environmental performance.   

Eco Certification Program 
Ecotourism Australia offers the Eco Certification Program, which was developed to address the need to identify genuine nature and ecotourism operators. The program assures travellers that certified products are backed by a strong, well managed commitment to sustainable practices and provides high quality nature-based tourism experiences. The Eco Certification range of programs are TAAL licensed, which means they comply with Tourism NT's accreditation policy.

Climate Action Certification Program*
This program is designed for all sectors of the tourism industry and is dedicated to ranking the efforts made by a business to reduce carbon emissions. It includes hotels, attractions, tours, transport, restaurants, travel agents, tourism commissions and industry bodies.

Earthcheck*
Earthcheck is an internationally recognised environmental management and certification program designed for the travel and tourism industry. 

EcoFriendly STAR accommodation*
EcoFriendly STAR is an entry level environmental management and accreditation program that has been developed in collaboration with Earthcheck.  It is an additional endorsement for tourism properties and separate to an official STAR rating.
