Board of Commissioners
Established under the Tourism NT Act, Tourism NT is governed by a Board of Commissioners who report to the Minister for Tourism, the Hon Lauren Moss MLA. The main role of the Board is to determine Tourism NT policy and ensure that the organisation performs in a proper and efficient manner.
An Expression of Interest process is currently being undertaken for new board members. Applications have now closed. Information regarding newly appointed board members will be available soon.

Michael Bridge, Chair
Chief Executive Officer, AirNorth Group
Michael has overseen AirNorth’s growth from a small charter company to Australia’s second oldest continuously operating airline brand. Michael was the Chair of the Regional Aviation Association of Australia for seven years and still sits on the Board. He was Director/Trustee of the Aviation Industry Superannuation Trust for eight years. Michael is a recipient of the National Australia Bank’s Medal for Management Innovation and in 2008 was awarded the Australian Aviation “Personality of the Year” for his work on creating an industry-wide forum bringing together the 12 industry associations in an effort to find a consolidated voice.

Amanda is the Marketing and Communications Manager of the NSW Business Chamber. She has more than 14 years experience in business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketing in tourism, financial services, education and business.

As Group Managing Director South Pacific and Managing Director Australia with ATS Pacific, an inbound travel management company, Denis led the company through sustained revenue growth and into a public listing, demonstrating his ability to grow returns from global markets. Denis is a former Board member of the Australian Tourism Export Council, Tourism New South Wales and Tourism Tropical North Queensland.
General Manager, Royal Flying Doctor Service
Michael is General Manager, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Central Operations. He has developed the tourism, retail, fundraising and hospitality side of the business with the construction of a world class $3m tourist facility in Alice Springs and a co-branding partnership with RM Williams for a range of high class merchandise.
Darwin businessman and owner operator of Porosus PTY LTD
Mick Burns has been in the Territory since 1981, and has been involved in a wide range of industries, businesses and developments. He has successfully owned and operated hotels since 1985, and constructed Crocosaurus Cove in 2009 which he still operates today. He has been the President (NT) and national board member of the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) for over 10 years, and is a life member in the NT and nationally. Mick currently owns and operates the Darwin Crocodile Farm, housing approximately 70,000 saltwater crocodiles. He is also Chairman of the Tiwi Bombers football club.
General Manager, Halikos Hospitality Pty Ltd
Geoff Weeks joined Halikos Hospitality Pty Ltd in 2011 as its General Manager. Halikos Hospitality is the largest supplier of accommodation in Darwin, with over 780 hotel rooms and apartments, as well as providing employment to over 260 staff in hospitality and tourism. Halikos Group is a Territory owned business for over 25 years and is widely recognised for its support with various Territory community groups, charities and sporting clubs.
CEO, Caravan, Camping & Touring Industry
Lyndel is currently the CEO of the Caravan, Camping and Touring Industry and Manufactured Housing Industry Association of NSW (CCIA). Previous roles include Head of Tourism NSW and Ms Gray led the tourism division of Destination NSW when events and tourism were amalgamated. She has also valuable overseas experience and is well versed in the international market having spent a numbers of years as a member of Tourism Australia’s senior executive team responsible for the Western Hemisphere markets, and fourteen years based in the USA responsible for the Americas. An experienced and highly motivated tourism industry leader, Lyndel is currently the Deputy President, Tourism Division of NSW Business Chamber.
Col has had extensive experience as a Chief Executive Officer in the Northern Territory public sector encompassing all major infrastructure and business-oriented agencies. He also has extensive experience in the Australian Public Service having held postings in Canberra, Port Moresby, Townsville and Darwin. In addition to serving on the majority of Ministerial and Advisory Boards in the NT, Col has been a member on a wide range of development orientated boards including Palmerston Development Authority, Darwin Port Precinct Development Committee, NT Business Consultative Council and the Northern Territory Tourism Council. Col was made a member of the Order of Australia in recognition of his lifetime of service.
