Acting Regional Director, Central Australia - John di Maria

Central Australia is of strategic importance to tourism in the Northern Territory. The Regional Director's role is to ensure that Tourism NT works in a cohesive and collaborative way to optimise tourism opportunities in the region, and represents the CEO and the agency in various forums, with close liaison with the tourism industry and Agencies across the three tiers of government.

The Regional Director is a member of various bodies, for example, Tourism Central Australia, the industry body which is significantly funded by Tourism NT, the Government Regional Coordination Committee made up of the senior representatives of all government agencies in Alice Springs, the Cross Border - Our Outback Tourism Partnership project of Desert Knowledge Australia, and the Tourism Consultative Committee of the Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park Board.

The Regional Director Chairs the Steering Committee for 'Australia's Red Centre National Landscape' and also Chairs the Implementation Team of the Destination Action Plan 'Strengthening Tourism for Alice Springs and the Red Centre.

In addition, the Regional Director provides leadership to the Alice Springs office and works with all program units in Tourism NT for effective outcomes for the Agency and the region.
