Established under the Tourism NT Act, the Tourism Advisory Board reports to the Minister for Tourism and provides advice on strategic issues facing the Northern Territory’s tourism industry.
The Board concentrates on key national and international trends that will impact on tourism and aims to ensure we are one step ahead of our competitors and prepared for any future impacts.
The Board members include:
Grant Hunt
Former CEO Voyages, Consultant
Grant Hunt is CEO of Anthology Pty Ltd which owns a portfolio of boutique nature based assets in Tasmania and South Australia. Grant’s global business experience spans 20 years in the tourism and hospitality industries.
Grant spent ten years as CEO and MD of Voyages Hotels and Resorts until April 2006. In this role, Mr Hunt transformed Voyages from a single resort operation to a company comprising 21 hotels across 16 destinations in some of the most ecologically and culturally sensitive locations in Australia. In particular, he is known for his visionary concept, Longitude 131, the country’s first true luxury tented wilderness camp which is located in Uluru.
Grant was a member of the former NT Tourism Commission Board from June 1996 to March 2004 and has been Chairman of the NT Tourism Advisory Board since June 2006. Grant is also currently a Board member of Tourism Australia and member of the CSIRO/Dept of Climate Change Stakeholder Group.

Maree Tetlow
Chief Executive, Tourism NT
Maree Tetlow was appointed Chief Executive of Tourism NT (a statutory authority of the NT Government) in March 2002. Maree has worked in government and a variety of destination marketing agencies spanning over 25 years.
Maree has led significant innovation at Tourism NT in recent years including the introduction of the ‘Share Our Story’ marketing platform in domestic and international markets; a greater focus on product standards and environmentally sustainable tourism; and a commitment to developing indigenous tourism based on the Northern Territory’s rich and diverse indigenous culture.

Rick Murray
Consultant
Rick Murray has lived and worked in the Northern Territory since 1965 and is a stalwart of the Territory’s eco tourism industry. He started one of the NT’s most enduring nature based businesses, Odyssey Safaris, in 1988 and was retained as General Manager when he sold the business to Voyages. He left Voyages in February 2006 and now operates a tourism development consultancy providing advice and mentoring to new and developing tourism businesses.
Rick has served on numerous tourism management boards and advisory committees and currently chairs the Kakadu Tourism Consultative Committee, is Deputy Chairman of Ecotourism Australia and is a member of the Kakadu National Park Board of Management.

Alistair Feehan
CEO, Imparja Television
Alistair Feehan has lived in Alice Springs since 2003, when he took on the role of Chief Executive Officer with Imparja Television. Mr Feehan has a strong sales, marketing and management background and currently leads a team of 56 staff to deliver quality programming from Australia’s sole remaining independent television station.
Before moving to the Northern Territory, he worked with Val Morgan Cinema Advertising as General Manager Australia. Mr Feehan has extensive commercial experience operating in often challenging business environments.

Ian Conway
Ian Conway was born in Alice Springs to two well known Central Arrente families; his father being Mort Conway and his mother Hilda Liddle.
Ian established Kings Creek Wilderness Lodge in partnership with APT and is a founder of Kings Creek Station which bred and exported camels. He was one of three people who founded the Camel Industry Association.
Ian’s goal is to ensure indigenous children of Central Australia get the same chance of education as the children of wider Australia. To this end, he established the trust fund ‘Conway’s Kids’ which provides interstate college education for indigenous children.
Over the last 30 years Ian has worked extensively with Aboriginal touring within the Northern Territory. His entrepreneurial spirit adds a depth of understanding and experience in providing strategic advice on the future of our tourism industry.

Col Hughes
Chair, National Tourism Alliance
Col Hughes has held pivotal roles with many aviation companies, including Qantas and Northwest Airlines, based in both Australia and Asia. He is a founding partner of a leading Sydney based aviation management firm, Global Aviation Services.
He has represented the aviation industry on a raft of high level tourism boards and committees, including the Board of the Pacific Asia Travel Association, the Board of Australian Travel Agents, the Board of Best Western Hotels, and he currently chairs the National Tourism Alliance and the Sydney Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Robyn Holt
Former CEO Collette Dinnigan, Consultant
Robyn Holt was the Managing Director of The Conde Nast Zao in Russia, publishers of RUSSIAN VOGUE, GQ, ARCHITECTUAL DIGEST and the largest European circulating GLAMOUR magazine. Robyn carries with her more than 25 years experience in journalism, publishing, cosmetics and the fashion industry and is a proven CEO.
Before re-joining Conde Nast in 1999 in Australia, and managing a massive turn-around, Robyn held the position of Managing Director and CEO of Sanofi Beaute Australia for 10 years. During this time she managed Yves Saint Laurent Beauty and Fashion as well as Oscar de la Renta, Tiffany and Burberry fragrances.
In 2002 Robyn was offered Director General of the biggest emerging market for Conde Nast, International – Russia. At Yves Saint Laurent, Robyn built a track record of success and earned a reputation as a dynamic business leader. Robyn has the rare and unique combination of journalistic experience, strong business acumen and marketing drive. She is also a published author of a children's book and a Penguin Award winning costume designer for Film.
